One year until Nomura’s 100th anniversary
Nomura will celebrate its 100th anniversary on December 25, 2025.
Nomura started in 1925 with fewer than 90 employees. Today, the firm has grown into a global financial services group with a network of around 27,000 employees across 30 countries and regions worldwide.
Our Group Purpose of “We aspire to create a better world by harnessing the power of financial markets” embodies our Founder’s Principles, which have been passed down over the past century.
To mark this significant milestone, we will organize various events and activities to show our appreciation to our clients, shareholders and all stakeholders who have supported us over the years.
Release of commemorative TV commercial and newspaper ad
In January, 2025, Nomura released a new TV commercial and newspaper ad to commemorate its upcoming 100th anniversary.
Through the ads, created around our Group Purpose and the concept of “aspire,” we will reflect on the past 100 years, the aspirations of our predecessors that have been passed down to us, and the power of finance to shape such aspirations and bring about positive change in the world.
The ads feature imma, a virtual human and influencer with many followers worldwide. imma will also serve as special supporter of the World Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai. By using this futuristic muse, the ad expresses our aspirations and expectations for the future.

I’m truly honored to be a part of Nomura Group’s 100th anniversary celebration. Being included in such a significant milestone feels like the beginning of a new chapter in my own journey, and I’m deeply grateful for this opportunity.
I was curious about what society was like 100 years ago, so I took some time to explore the past. Life 100 years ago was so different—from infrastructure to values—and imagining how people lived back then gave me a deeper appreciation for the history that has shaped today.
I’m especially inspired by Nomura Group’s century-long journey of evolving with the times, embracing change, and continuing to grow.
Looking to the future, I hope to follow that example—embracing change, finding joy in growth, and evolving in ways that help shape a brighter tomorrow for all of us.
