2026 2026 International Women’s Day Celebrations Around the World

International Women’s Day (IWD), celebrated annually on March 8, honors the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women while highlighting the importance of advancing gender equality.

In line with this year’s theme, “Give To Gain,” Nomura held a variety of events at our offices around the world focused on building a more inclusive workplace through collaboration and mutual support.

  • Seminar: “Let’s Learn More About Our Bodies! Seminar on Understanding Women’s and Men’s Health Issues,” covering key health and wellbeing topics, including hormones and menopause (Tokyo)
  • Talk: World-renowned freediver Ai Futaki on preparing for extreme environments, managing pressure, and understanding what it truly means to commit (Hong Kong)
  • Seminar: A session on supporting the wellbeing of caregivers, offering practical tips on stress management, self-care, and balancing caregiving with daily life (Taipei)
  • Workshop: A flower bouquet-making workshop designed to encourage creativity and connection among participants (Shanghai)
  • Session: A consulting session held in partnership with TalentTrust, where volunteer advisors supported female leaders in the non-profit sector (Singapore)
  • Workshop: An imposter syndrome workshop led by leadership coach Cecilie Nielsen, exploring workplace self-doubt and psychological safety (London)
  • Initiative: “The Great Color Swap,” a campaign that fostered inclusion in the workplace by challenging traditional gender-color associations and encouraging employees to view familiar choices differently (Powai, India)
  • Workshop: The “Exchange Lab Program,” an interactive and collaborative workshop on new ideas for inclusion, where diverse teams shared perspectives on building a more inclusive and equitable organization (Powai, India)
