Nomura celebrates its 100th Anniversary today, December 25, 2025. To mark this milestone, we have launched a new advertisement titled “Changing world. Enduring passion.” The ad is airing on television across Japan, and print ads ran in the morning editions of national newspapers on December 25, including Nihon Keizai Shimbun, The Yomiuri Shimbun, The Asahi Shimbun, The Mainichi Shimbun, and The Sankei Shimbun.

Ad message: A century of progress and commitment to the future

Following last year’s 100th Anniversary commercial, “Relay of Aspirations,” Nomura has released a second ad titled “Changing world. Enduring passion.” The new commercial uses brisk, dynamic visuals to connect our 100-year history and look ahead to the next century. It conveys Nomura’s dedication and passion for the future.

Featuring imma, a symbol of the future

For this second ad, we again cast imma, the virtual human and influencer who also appeared in the first commercial. With a global following and accomplishments such as special supporter for Expo 2025 in Osaka, imma continues to inspire the next generation. By featuring imma, we express our anticipation for what’s to come and Nomura’s determination to keep going forward.

Nihonbashi: Connecting past and future

Set in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, the commercial centers on two buildings that symbolize Nomura’s history. The first is the Nihonbashi Nomura Building, nicknamed the “Gunkan (Battleship) Building” for of its distinctive exterior. Completed in 1930, the former Nomura headquarters has stood watch over the city from the prewar era to the present and is designated a Tangible Cultural Property of Chuo Ward in Tokyo. An enduring part of Nomura’s legacy, it symbolizes Nomura Group and provides an important stage for telling its story.

The second is our new headquarters, scheduled for completion in 2026. Built around the concept “THE GLOBAL HEART OF NOMURA DIVERSITY,” the building embodies our aspirations for the future.

In the commercial, imma moves between these two buildings, traveling through time to experience the passion and energy of people in each era. Those feelings are passed down, helping to shape a prosperous future.

A century on, the streets, technologies, and people’s lives have changed dramatically. What remains unchanged is people’s will and passion. This commercial shows how those enduring forces move the world and pave the way to a brighter future. As we have in the past and continue to do, Nomura will harness the power of financial markets to help people turn their aspirations into reality and carry their passions into the future. That is the message at the heart of the commercial. Please watch it below.

Comment from imma

Congratulations to Nomura on your 100th Anniversary.

When I tried to grasp what 100 years really means, I imagined traveling back a century. Things we take for granted today—how money works and the infrastructure that supports daily life—must have looked completely different back then.

Reflecting on how Nomura has shaped the future of people and finance across that long span, while staying attuned to changing societies and values, moves me deeply. I am honored to be part of this milestone year. Looking ahead to the next 100 years, I want to keep evolving without fear of change and be someone who stands with people as they take on new challenges.
